‣ GENESIS OF A HUMANIST PROJECT
When I told Jean Audouze, the famous French Astrophysicist, about my project to deploy a sculpture on the moon, his only question was :
“Where on the moon do you wish to install the sculpture ?”
At that time the Odyssey could start.
‣ REALISATION OF SEVERAL ITERATIONS OF THE SCULPTURE
‣ FLIGHT N°1 : INTO THE STRATOSPHERE
A first flight of a small VITAE has reached the edge of space, thanks to a weather balloon launched from Omaha Beach, on which stands another well-known artwork of Anilore Banon, Les Braves (designed with CATIA), official sculpture of the 60th anniversary commemoration of the World War II D-Day.
‣ FEASIBILITY STUDIES
Thermal, mechanical, and optical simulations carried by Dassault Systèmes.

‣ MOONBOX –TERRESTRIAL TESTS IN THE ATELIER
Tests have been conducted on the opening and closing of Vitae in the Moonbox (heating cabinet).
‣ FLIGHT N°2 : ABOARD SPACEX 10 FALCON 9 SPACECRAFT – TEST IN THE INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION (ISS) PERFORMED BY THOMAS PESQUET
February 19 2017, Cap Canaveral Florida – Aboard SpaceX-10 Falcon 9 historical flight, a first mock-up of VITAE reaches the International Space Station (ISS), in order to be tested in micro-gravity. The deployment test has been successful.
‣ HANDPRINTS COLLECTION CAMPAIGN
One million hands as a symbol of a gathered humanity in a common voyage to the Moon.
Before its final installation on the Moon, Vitae’s artistic odyssey begins first on Earth, by collecting hand prints across 5 continents. All the collected handprints will be engraved on the sculpture. The artist gives conferences in many locations, schools, hospitals, forums, companies… to share the vitality and energy carried by Vitae. Vitae becomes iconic of the immense power of women and men to change their own destiny and make the unreachable possible.
